MD Notebook [A5 Grid]
The MD Notebook from Midori is designed for simplicity, so that whatever's on your mind can be put down on paper more easily.
The MD paper used in this notebook was first developed in Japan in the 1960s as Midori Co.'s original diary paper, and has gone through continuous quality improvements until today. It is adapted for high writability and prevents smearing or bleeding through.
Instead of adding cover pages, the end pages are used, with traditional cheesecloth and threaded binding displayed openly. This also allows the notebook to be opened 180º and laid flat for ease of use. To protect the appearance of the book, an optional sheet of glassine paper is included, folded like the dust jacket of a hardback book.
This grid paper version is marked with 5mm squares with gaps in between, a reference to traditional genkouyoushi used for writing in Japan. Every 5th and 10th square is marked – helpful for character counting – and the lines are an unobtrusive pale blue.
