Description

Designed by Yamamoto Akira for Lemnos, this large cuckoo clock is veneered with walnut over a ply frame, with bold silver numbers painted to allow the grain to show through. The shape of a birdhouse is also painted through the design. The charming bird figure has a moving beak and wings, with adjustable volume. There is also a light sensor to prevent it from sounding in night time hours.

After a long creative career, Mr Yamamoto now oversees the RIKI brand after Watanabe Riki's passing. He studied industrial design in both Chiba and Torino, and heads the Akira Yamamoto Design Office in Tokyo, designing clocks, lighting and kitchenware.
