Hung outside the home, the fūrin (wind bell) has long been a symbol of summertime in Japan, making a relaxing sound to announce the cooling breeze. Tsugaru Vidro handmake their glass fūrin in Aomori in the north of Honshū, mixing in vibrant colours reminiscent of nature.

It colors the summer scenery with bright colors and cool tones that express the "Nebuta Festival", one of the three major festivals in Tohoku. Crystal glass is used for the tongue that hits the body of the wind chime, giving a particularly beautiful tone by applying several fine grooves to the tongue.
